Isaiah 26:3

You will keep them in perfect peace, whose minds are steadfast,

because they trust in you.

Trust in the Lord, the Lord himself,

is the Rock eternal.

In a time where fear is present on every social media outlet and tv channel, our hearts can suffer at the hand of the great enemy called fear and anxiety.

My oldest daughter lays in bed with a high fever and I am struck by a fear that doesn’t normally accompany a fever in my older child. A fever normally is just a sign of her body fighting the sickness, but today It has a deep anxiety associated with it.

If we are not careful we will let this enemy rule out, and we will all be wrecked with so much anxiety that we will all sit paralyzed. This is what the enemy wants, he wants to instill fear in our brains and hearts so that we no longer move.

Every time my heart would go to worry, my Father in heaven would whisper that He goes with me, my heart would steady again, and I would be filled with His peace. This is a time where His sweet whispers need to be louder than the many voices around us. We need to steady our minds and put them back on our Heavenly Father and listen to His voice above the noise.

My sweet daughter still has a fever, nothing about my circumstances have changed but I know that He is with me and He goes before me and everything in my heart and mind has changed.

Drown out the loud voices my sweet friend and calm yourself with His still small whispers.

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
